What does GDP actually mean?
One of the most common is GDP, which stands for gross domestic product. It is often cited in newspapers, on the television news, and in reports by governments, central banks, and the business community. It has become widely used as a reference point for the health of national and global economies.

What GDP says?
Gross domestic product (GDP) is a monetary measure of the market value of all the final goods and services produced in a specific time period by a country or countries. GDP is most often used by the government of a single country to measure its economic health.

How is GDP calculated?
GDP can be calculated by adding up all of the money spent by consumers, businesses, and the government in a given period. It may also be calculated by adding up all of the money received by all the participants in the economy. In either case, the number is an estimate of "nominal GDP."
